# Tracking Your Drop

> How to follow your drop from acceptance to delivery.

## Drop statuses

Once RoomDrop creates a drop from your order notification, it moves through a series of statuses:

| Status                 | What it means                                             |
| ---------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Waiting for runner** | Your drop is posted and visible to runners on your campus |
| **Runner accepted**    | A runner has accepted and is heading to the pickup point  |
| **Picked up**          | Your runner has your food and is on the way to your room  |
| **Delivered**          | Drop complete — enjoy your food                           |

## Live updates in the app

Open the RoomDrop iOS app to see your drop's current status. The home screen shows any active drop with a live status card.

## Chatting with your runner

Once a runner accepts, you can open a live chat directly with them. Use it to:

* Let them know about a tricky entrance
* Ask them to leave the food at the door
* Confirm your room number

Tap the chat bubble on your active drop card to open the conversation.

## Tip window

After your drop is delivered, you have a **5-minute window** to leave a tip. You'll see a tip prompt in the app with options for $1, $2, or \$3. 100% of the tip goes to your runner.

If you don't select a tip within 5 minutes, no tip is added and your card is charged only the \$3.99 drop fee.

  If your runner went above and beyond, leave them a tip. They're verified students doing this on their own schedule.
