# Quickstart

> Get your first drop in under 5 minutes.

## Step 1: Download the app

## Step 2: Create your account

Sign in with your phone number. RoomDrop uses phone-based authentication — no password needed.

## Step 3: Add your delivery address

1. Open **Account → Delivery Preferences**
2. Add your dorm building and room number
3. Set it as your primary address

This is the address your runner will deliver to. You can save multiple addresses and switch between them.

## Step 4: Start a drop and get your number

When you're ready to order food, open the RoomDrop app and **start a drop**. We'll generate a phone number for this order — it's unique every time.

Copy that number. You'll use it in the next step.

## Step 5: Place your food order

1. Open DoorDash or Uber Eats
2. Build your cart and go to checkout
3. Before confirming, find the **Send as gift** option
4. Enter the RoomDrop number we gave you as the recipient's phone number
5. Confirm your order

That's it — you're done with your part.

  Make sure you enter the number in the **Send as gift** field before confirming checkout. If the order goes through without it, RoomDrop won't be able to detect your delivery.

## Step 6: Sit back

RoomDrop starts a **Live Activity** on your Lock Screen and will send you push notifications as your drop moves through each stage. You don't need to open the app — we'll keep you in the loop automatically.

It can take **up to 10 minutes** after you place the order for your delivery service to send us the notification. That's normal.

  Please keep push notifications enabled. If we run into any issues — like difficulty finding an available runner — we'll reach you that way.
