Before you order
Make sure you’ve:
- Downloaded the RoomDrop app and signed in
- Added your room as your primary delivery address in Account → Delivery Preferences
- Opened the RoomDrop app and copied your number for this order (shown on the home screen)
On DoorDash
Build your cart
Open DoorDash and add items to your cart normally.
Go to checkout
Tap the cart and proceed to checkout.
Change the contact number
Find the Phone Number field under your delivery details. Replace it with your RoomDrop number.
Place the order
Complete checkout. Your delivery address stays as your dorm building.
On Uber Eats
Build your cart
Add items to your Uber Eats cart.
Go to checkout
Tap your cart and proceed.
Change the contact number
Under delivery details, find the contact phone number field and enter your RoomDrop number.
Place the order
Confirm and place your order.
After you order
Once your order is placed, RoomDrop is watching for the notification from your delivery service. It can take up to 10 minutes for DoorDash or Uber Eats to send the “on the way” text — this is normal and depends on the delivery platform, not RoomDrop.
When we receive it, a drop is automatically created and posted to runners on your campus. You’ll get an in-app notification when a runner accepts. You don’t need to do anything — just wait for the knock.
Tips
Add any delivery notes (gate code, specific entrance, etc.) to your address in RoomDrop. Your runner sees these notes when they accept the drop.
Don’t forget to switch the contact number back to your personal number on future orders if you’re not using RoomDrop. DoorDash and Uber Eats may save it as your default.
