Authorization hold

When you place an order session, RoomDrop authorizes up to **$6.99** on your card ($3.99 drop fee + $3.00 max tip). This is a hold, not a charge. After your 5-minute tip window closes, the actual amount is captured —$3.99 if no tip, up to $6.99 if you tip$3.

What you pay for

The RoomDrop fee covers the last step of delivery — a verified student runner carrying your food from the building entrance to your door. You still pay DoorDash or Uber Eats separately for the food and their delivery.

Runner earnings

Runners earn $3.00 per completed drop regardless of drop type (standard or rush). Tips go entirely to the runner.

Rush drops

Rush drops are the same price as standard drops ($3.99 for customers,$3.00 for runners). They are tagged with priority visibility in the runner feed — useful for time-sensitive orders. Customers can mark their drop as a rush when creating an order session.
