RoomDrop connects three parties — the food delivery platform, a campus runner, and you — through a single automated flow.

Step by Step

1. Start a drop in the RoomDrop app

Open the iOS app and place a drop for your address. RoomDrop generates a unique phone number for this order — it’s new every time and tied specifically to your drop.

2. Use that number in your delivery app

Open DoorDash or Uber Eats and build your cart. Before you confirm checkout, find the Send as gift option and enter the RoomDrop number we just gave you as the recipient’s phone number. That’s the only thing you need to do in the delivery app. Confirm your order and you’re done with your part.
The “Send as gift” field is how DoorDash and Uber Eats let you enter a separate contact number for the delivery. It’s not actually sending a gift — it just routes the delivery notifications to the number you enter.

3. RoomDrop watches for the notification

Once your order is placed, RoomDrop is listening on that number. When the delivery driver picks up your food, DoorDash or Uber Eats sends an automated text to it. RoomDrop intercepts that SMS and parses it to create your drop. This can take up to 10 minutes depending on your delivery service — that’s normal.

4. A runner is assigned

RoomDrop posts your drop to verified runners on your campus. A runner accepts, and you’re notified via push notification. A Live Activity appears on your Lock Screen so you can follow the status without opening the app.

5. Pickup at the entrance

The delivery driver arrives at your building entrance. Your runner meets them, confirms the order, and picks it up.

6. Delivered to your door

Your runner brings everything straight to your room. You can chat with them in real time through the app if needed — but you don’t have to. We’ll keep you updated with push notifications every step of the way.
Checking the app during your drop is completely optional. RoomDrop handles everything and keeps you informed via push notifications. Just make sure notifications are enabled so we can reach you if anything comes up — like a runner being hard to find.

7. Payment and payout

After delivery, RoomDrop charges your saved card **3.99∗∗forthedrop.Youhavea5−minutetipwindowtoleaveanoptionaltip(3.99** for the drop. You have a 5-minute tip window to leave an optional tip (1, 2,or2, or 3). Your runner receives $3.00 flat plus 100% of any tip you leave.

Supported Delivery Platforms

RoomDrop currently works with SMS notifications from:

DoorDash

Works with standard DoorDash orders. Use the “Send as gift” field at checkout to enter your RoomDrop number.

Uber Eats

Works with Uber Eats orders. Same process — “Send as gift” at checkout.
Other platforms that send SMS pickup notifications may work but are not officially supported yet.
