Drop statuses

Once RoomDrop creates a drop from your order notification, it moves through a series of statuses:
StatusWhat it means
Waiting for runnerYour drop is posted and visible to runners on your campus
Runner acceptedA runner has accepted and is heading to the pickup point
Picked upYour runner has your food and is on the way to your room
DeliveredDrop complete — enjoy your food

Live updates in the app

Open the RoomDrop iOS app to see your drop’s current status. The home screen shows any active drop with a live status card.

Chatting with your runner

Once a runner accepts, you can open a live chat directly with them. Use it to:
  • Let them know about a tricky entrance
  • Ask them to leave the food at the door
  • Confirm your room number
Tap the chat bubble on your active drop card to open the conversation.

Tip window

After your drop is delivered, you have a 5-minute window to leave a tip. You’ll see a tip prompt in the app with options for 1,1, 2, or $3. 100% of the tip goes to your runner. If you don’t select a tip within 5 minutes, no tip is added and your card is charged only the $3.99 drop fee.
If your runner went above and beyond, leave them a tip. They’re verified students doing this on their own schedule.
