Drop statuses
Once RoomDrop creates a drop from your order notification, it moves through a series of statuses:
| Status | What it means |
|---|
| Waiting for runner | Your drop is posted and visible to runners on your campus |
| Runner accepted | A runner has accepted and is heading to the pickup point |
| Picked up | Your runner has your food and is on the way to your room |
| Delivered | Drop complete — enjoy your food |
Live updates in the app
Open the RoomDrop iOS app to see your drop’s current status. The home screen shows any active drop with a live status card.
Chatting with your runner
Once a runner accepts, you can open a live chat directly with them. Use it to:
- Let them know about a tricky entrance
- Ask them to leave the food at the door
- Confirm your room number
Tap the chat bubble on your active drop card to open the conversation.
Tip window
After your drop is delivered, you have a 5-minute window to leave a tip. You’ll see a tip prompt in the app with options for 1,2, or $3. 100% of the tip goes to your runner.
If you don’t select a tip within 5 minutes, no tip is added and your card is charged only the $3.99 drop fee.
If your runner went above and beyond, leave them a tip. They’re verified students doing this on their own schedule.
